Review: Mitomo EGF & Lithospermum Essence Mask ★★★★☆

These Mitomo masks are so pretty! I have a weakness for paintings of ancient beauties. The packaging is so worth framing up! I’m totally saving mine!

EGF (Epidermal Growth Factor) is an ingredient that promotes the production of cells to restore damaged skin. Lithospermum has a formula that can help to reduce acne, blackhead, and skin blemishes. This mask sounds like it’s made for my skin!

Before masking

My skin is feeling pretty irritated and looking a little red today. I’ve cleansed, toned, and exfoliated my skin. Find out how I normally prep my skin for masking.

Out of the packet, I detected a clean citrusy fragrance. The natural cotton mask sheet felt thick but smooth and soft. Essence felt soapy/slimey and was dripping from my chin while I was adjusting the fit.

Fit and adherence were great! The extra cuts helped alot. Eye flaps are always a bonus to me. I had this on for 30 mins, my extra sensitive nasolabial areas were tingling ever so slightly. The sheet was still clinging on pretty well despite the thicket material.

After masking

There was very little essence left to pat in. My skin felt super soft and was nicely hydrated. Skin looked slightly brighter and slightly less red. Finish was matte and non-tacky. For my skin type, I had to seal this in with a gel moisturizer to avoid getting dry skin after a couple of hours.

Below is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.

This is a perfect one for day time or oily skin types! Would love to try the other varieties!

  1. Elaine, I love how visible the skin difference between the two last pictures is. I am still surprised that the Mitomo masks seem to be really working. Don’t you love that the sheet has so many additional slits – it makes quite easy to adjust over any kind of face.
Even thought I bought quite a nice stash from Japanskin a few months ago, I only managed to try two of the line so far. Can’t wait to pun on thie EGF & Lithospermum one on.
    Thanks for your review.
