Review: Sexylook Daisy Intensive Moisturising Duo Lifting Mask ★★★★☆
This is my first Sexylook mask and it’s a super pretty one! This lifting mask with double ear hooks is infused with concentrated hyaluronic acid and other herbal essences like mallow, mint, european primrose, cape grass, speedwell, lemon balm and yarrow alongside tranexamic acid, and rice extract.
It claims to fight against gravity and sagging skin, and moisturize, brighten, and regenerate the skin. It contains MOIST™ technology to rapidly quenches skin’s thirst and moisturizes for up to 24 hours.
Gold flecks: Activates skin cell regeneration to remove skin impurities and reduce the effects of ageing. The research behind the benefits of gold in skincare is rather ambiguous.
Daisy extract: Naturally suppresses the production of melanin whilst treating inflamed, irritated skin.
Vitamin B3: Naturally brightens and polishes the skin.
However, since ‘phenoxyethanol’ is a preservative, it’s concentration is approved at 1%. That means that the herbal extracts are in concentrations of less than 1%, which is negligible.
My skin is very irritated and dry today. I’ve cleansed, toned, and exfoliated my skin. Find out how I normally prep my skin for masking.
Out of the packet, this gave off a perfumey fragrance. The material felt thick but soft and stretchy. It was also coated with GOLD FLECKS. The hexagonal pattern helped with the stretchability of the fabric, which was made this lifting mask super comfortable to wear. Apparently, the honeycomb-shaped microscopic cell structures intensify the penetration and absorption of active ingredients.
All 35ml of the watery-gel essence seemed to be absorbed entirely by the mask, there was almost no essence left in the packet.
Fit and adherence were great! Having ear hooks on both the face mask and neck panel really helped it stay in place and also gave a slight upwards tugging effect. It fitted perfectly to facial contours for optimum coverage. However, I did not enjoy having my hair and scalp nourished.
On the other hand, I like that my neck area has been taken care of as well. This is a highly-neglected area, where unwanted skincare products come to die. This neck panel had perforated lines for easy detachment, looks like this is an optional piece.
I had this on for 40 mins, it was still very damp.
Massaging in the essence felt soap and slippery. My skin felt very hydrated but not icky at all. Finish was silky and not tacky. I also noticed my skin looking alot brighter and slightly more calm. There wasn’t any lifting effect, perhaps with continued use I will experience it. I did seal everything with a light moisturizer, this was perfect for my dehydrated skin type.
Below is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.
I’d recommend this for all skin types regardless of the climate.
