Review: Benton Papaya-D Sun Cream SPF38/PA+++ ★★☆☆☆

Benton Papaya-D Sun Cream SPF38/PA+++

Benton Papaya-D Sun Cream SPF38/PA+++

This product claims to moisturize and protect skin from the sun with daily use. It’s both a physical and chemical sunscreen as it contains titanium dioxide (physical, UVB, UVA) and ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate (chemical, UVB). It also contains 55% carica papaya fruit water, 5000ppm carica papaya seed oil, 750ppm carica papaya fruit extract, 100 ppm papain, jojoba oil, niacinamide, and adenosine.

I love how sleek and simple the packaging design is. Though it would be better if it comes with a pump so I get a consistent amount each time.

Carica Papaya (Papaya) Fruit Water(55%), Titanium Dioxide, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Isoamyl p-Methoxycinnamate, Glycerin, Dicaprylyl Carbonate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Bis-Ethylhexyloxyphenol Methoxyphenyl Triazine, Pentylene Glycol, Niacinamide, Glyceryl Stearate, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Cetearyl Olivate, Sorbitan Olivate, 1,2-Hexanediol, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Aluminum Hydroxide, Panthenol, Carica Papaya Seed Oil(5000ppm), Glyceryl Caprylate, Stearic Acid, Water, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, Xanthan Gum, Carica Papaya (Papaya) Fruit Extract(750ppm), Tocopherol, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate,Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Xylitylglucoside, Anhydroxylitol, Xylitol, Papain(100ppm), Propanediol, Adenosine, Sodium Gluconate, Disodium Adenosine Triphosphate, Algin, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Bud Extract, Glucose, Juniperus Communis Fruit Oil, Citrus Aurantifolia (Lime) Oil, Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Fruit Oil

I’ve been using this on and off for 6 days, mainly because it gave me tiny white heads if I use this all day everyday. My sensitive skin can only take a thin layer of this every other day.

It has a creamy texture and blends out easily if applied in a thin layer. However, to get sufficient protection, I’d have to live with a white cast on my fair and warm skin tone. No biggie when I’m home since it doesn’t give a whole ton of protection anyway. It also leaves behind a greasy finish, so I wouldn’t recommend this for hot days, physical activities or oily skin peeps. On dry skin peeps, this does give a nice hydration.

I have mixed feelings about this suncreen, on one hand it hydrates and contains amazing skin-loving ingredients but on the other hand, white cast and minimal protection. I’ll have to try this again in the winter when my skin is fairer and drier.
