Review: Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin E Mask ★★★★☆
A new addition to Klairs’ Freshly Juiced line! So apparently, this Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin E Mask, is a complementary product to their Freshly Juiced Vitamin C serum, which I’ve been using on and off for the past month. Together, they boost each other’s efficacy to brighten skin, improve wrinkles, prevent aging, and skin damage from the sun.
A major lipid-soluble antioxidant in the skin. It is found in most of the skin’s epidermis, dermis and stratum corneum, and protects against peroxide and pro-oxidants (prevents oxidation in cosmetics).
The skin’s protective function will be weakened if Vitamin E levels are insufficient, allowing harmful foreign substances to invade and promote aging of the skin.
Prevents cell aging by keeping the cell membrane from lipid peroxidation.
Possesses skin softening properties, and soothes inflammation.
Protects skin against damage caused by sunlight.
Reduces pigmentation by preventing melanin pigment from migrating to the epidermis.
Suppresses sebum secretion, and improves acne caused by oily skin.
Helps stabilize vitamin C, having enhanced effects when used with vitamin C.
Formulated with an adequate concentration of 2%, as it may induce burning when used at high concentration.
Active ingredient prescribed in maximum dose, to serve the function of improving wrinkles.
Strengthens fibroblast proliferation in dermal layer, and promotes collagen synthesis.
Possesses powerful anti-inflammatory properties, making it effective in wound healing and regeneration.
This product has a unique pudding consistency that slowly returns to the shape of the container after a couple of seconds. It was so fun to play with! Like I’m digging into a new product every time! I like that it came in a 90ml thick plastic jar instead of glass, which is lighter, sturdier, and butterfingers-proof. However, when I’m in a hurry, I found it kinda annoying when it crumbles and falls on the counter before I could melt it on my skin. Spreadability and absorption were great! The scent though, was a little too strong for my liking. I’m used to nearly scentless products from Wishtrend so this one is just slightly overwhelming.
Labeled as a mask, it can actually can be used as a mask, sleeping mask, moisturizer, or skincare cocktail base. I call it the Swiss Army knife of skincare, and here’s why:
Mask: For rapid hydration, I slather on a really thick layer, about 2 spatulas full. Wait 5-10 mins, wipe off with a tissue.
Sleeping mask: With a spatula full of product, I layer this over my skincare routine to seal everything in and prevent evaporation overnight. The texture and consistency made it feel like a thin layer of modeling mask on my face. I wake up to calm and hydrated skin. Most of the product would’ve been absorbed by morning. The only downside is not being able to sleep on my side, which I very much love.
Moisturizer: On hotter nights or nights when I had more hydrating layers underneath, just a half spatula full of this is more than enough to moisturize my skin. It absorbs fairly quickly and leaves a silky finish. I use this in the occlusive step of my PM routine, and will do so in my AM routine in the winter.
Skincare cocktail base: Per Wishtrend.com, current skincare products could be upgraded and enhanced by mixing it in with this. Eg. Vitamin C drop + Vitamin E mask; Calming Blue cream + Vitamin E mask.
I find myself reaching for this more, now that the weather is getting colder! Check out more Klairs reviews here.
