These zombie masks are getting popular! The concept behind it is “Sometimes you have to lose to win. 15 minutes of horror for 15 years younger looking skin!” I am intrigued! I have always loved zombie movies since I was a wee girl, now I have a chance to turn into a zombie myself , while caring for my skin! Double win!
This mask claims to provide 9-in-1 care – tightens pores, clears, hydrates, lifts and brightens skin, smoothens skin texture, removes dead skin cells, and balances pH levels, resulting in resilient skin.
Like modeling masks, the mask is formed when the powder is combined with the liquid activator. This set contains:
8 x 2g powder capsules
8 x 0.118 fl oz sachets of liquid activator
Albumin: Known as a component from eggs, this is a protein made of amino acids, and is effective for attracting moisture to the skin – this is great for skin elasticity!
Centella Asiatica: Effective for soothing and calming the skin, this ingredient is especially perfect for those with acne prone, or sensitive skin.
Does NOT include: parabens, mineral oils, artificial coloring, alcohol
My skin is slightly irritated and dry today. I’m also sporting a couple of PIHs. I’ve cleansed, toned, and exfoliated my skin. Find out how I normally prep my skin for masking.
Open, pour, mix, stir. One capsule and one sachet of liquid activator makes enough for one use. It took me about 20 seconds of stirring with the provided brush to get it to have a smooth consistency. At this point, there was a pungent egg smell. Apparently, the reason for the smell is caused by “albumin” which is a natural ingredient extracted from egg whites proven for tightening and lifting effects.
I was hesitant to apply this to my face but I wanna look like a zombie so badly!
The amount of mixture in the capsule was perfect for my entire face. The brush felt surprisingly soft and helped me get an even layer with ease! Most brushes that come with masks that require mixing felt stiff and scrubby on my skin. The mask was highly spreadable yet not runny enough to drip off my face. I avoided my eye area for fear of sensitivity issues.
Now the fun begins.
After 5 mins
After 10 mins
After 20 mins – right
After 20 mins – left
5 mins: Slight drying, no zombie face yet.
10 mins: The stretchiness kicked in, not too bad. I see myself turning.
15 mins: Very stretchy, slightly uncomfortable but scentless. It was impossible to have an expression. I’m a full on zombie! 324536 selfies taken! No humans were consumed in the process.
At this point, I’m ready to diagnose my skin!
Bumpy parts: Areas that lack elasticity, and are prone to wrinkles. Look for the bumpiest parts to see which areas are losing elasticity
Cracked parts: Areas that lack hydration. Skin may not seem dry on the surface, but could be dehydrated internally.
I see more bumpy parts than cracked parts on my skin. Especially on my forehead and nasolabial areas. Cracked parts can be spotted around my temples and nose bridge. Not too bad if I could so say myself.
After-which, I wet my zombie face with water (took quite abit of splashing to get it wet enough) and with the help of a rubber scrubber, rinsed everything off.
Skin felt slightly stretchy right after rinsing but did not look dry. In face, my skin has a silky sheen to it. My also skin felt super smooth and my pores were teeny tiny! I think this did the most for my skin texture. Fine lines were also ironed out. Skin looked brighter and calmer. I continued with my routine and my skin looked so good the entire day!
Below is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.
I can safely say this mask is not just #skintertainment, it actually works! Please go try it out at least once, it’s definitely a unique experience! It doesn’t just stop there, this breaks down to only $2.20 per use, super affordable!
