Review: Soffy Girl Herbal Seaweed Hydrating Mask ★★★★.☆

Soffy Girl is a Taiwanese brand with colorful and pretty packaging on all their masks. I adore the handles on the packaging! Makes me wanna fancy strut down the street with this on one arm while tossing my hair left and right hehe! Their herbal mask range includes immortelle (today’s pick), rose, aloe, seaweed, natto, and lavender.

This mask contains an active formula of blue green algae, trehalose, and plant extracts blended together to provide the right amount of hydration and resiliency needed for all skin types. Also, hyaluronic acid and vitamins promote healthy tissue rejuvenation, leaving the skin feeling fresh. It does contain parabens, please stay away if you are allergic to it.

Before masking

My skin is feeling pretty good today, just a tad dry. I’ve cleansed, toned, and exfoliated my skin. Find out how I normally prep my skin for masking.

Material

Out of the packet, I caught a light cologne fragrance. Essence was watery and drippy. The super soft and thin material came with a thin perforated plastic backing and felt almost like silk, just a tad firmer. Reminds me of newer MBD masks.

During masking

Fit was alright. I wish it could be longer so it cups my chin and cover my entire forehead. It looked wider than it is long. The multitudes of deeps cuts allowed me to adjust it to cup my face snugly. Adherence was great! Though it popped up when I moved around abit, but it stuck back onto my skin pretty quickly.

I had this on for 30 mins, it was already drying out.

After masking

I jumped when I removed the mask. My skin looked so fair and devoid of color, like a blank canvas! You could see where the mask ended on my forehead because the part that was uncovered was darker. There was no redness and PIH was significantly lightened. It’s been awhile since I’ve experience such drastic effects from sheet masking. Leftover essence absorbed/evaporated after a few quick pats. However, it was as hydrating as I would like, though it’s nothing a good moisturizer can’t resolve. Pores were also looking alot smaller. Finish was matte and non-tacky.

Below is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.

Dry skin types will find the hydration inadequate, otherwise, I’d recommend this to everyone. I’m super impressed with this mask and would repurchase over and over if I weren’t one for trying out different masks all the time. Check out more Soffy Girl reviews here.
