Before masking

My skin is slightly irritated and dry today. I’m also dealing with PIE and PIH. I’ve cleansed, toned, and exfoliated my skin. Find out how I normally prep my skin for masking.

Jelly essence

Out of the packet, I caught a strong citrusy fragrance. The packet contains a whooping 30ml of clear jelly essence so I went ahead to slather it on my face before slapping on the sheet mask.

Material

The cotton sheet had a medium thickness and felt slightly rough. Unfolding the mask wasn’t challenging even though it didn’t come with a backing. The mask was soaked all the way through and also completely covered in jelly essence. Unlike some other masks with thicker jelly essences, this mask was evenly coated with essence and had no drier patches in some areas.

During masking

Fit was great! I was amazed by how long the mask was, enough to cover my entire forehead and also cup my chin. There weren’t enough slits to get the mask to hug my face so I had to squish and crumple some areas with excess material. Adherence was great thanks to the tacky jelly essence. I had this on for 30 mins, it was still very damp when I took the mask off.

After masking

There were lots of essence left to pat in. It took quite awhile for the essence to absorb/dry down. Finish was tacky and dewy at first but eventually toned down and felt more comfortable. I did not notice any brightening, which the mask claimed to do. Redness reduction was also minimal and there was no change to my pores. That said, this mask did the best hydrating my skin without leaving behind an icky greasy film. My skin felt deeply hydrated and very bouncy. “Chok chok” indeed!

Below is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.

This mask gave me a healthy complexion overall and I highly recommend it to all skin types. At such an affordable price, I see myself repurchasing it! Check out more Banobagi reviews here.
