My skin is very irritated and dry today. It is also slightly congested. I’ve cleansed, toned, and exfoliated my skin. Find out how I normally prep my skin for masking.
The product came in a 68g plastic jar in the most cheerful shade of yellow. The jar felt sturdy and crack-proof. There was a faint artificial scent wafting from it, I can’t put my finger on what it smells like but I didn’t like it.
The pastel yellow clay felt smooth and thick. Unevenly-sized bits were suspended in the clay, I’m guessing they are the kiwi seeds that were meant to provide gentle physical exfoliation.
Directions: Apply an even layer on cleansed face or targeted spots. Relax for 5-10 minutes. Wash off with lukewarm water while massaging in circular motions. Use 1-2 times per week
The clay spreads easily and a little goes a long way. A tiny scoop was enough to evenly cover my skin It’s better to start with a thin layer especially on sensitive skin types since clay masks can be pretty drying. Surprisingly, it did not start tingling. Instead, there was a minty cool sensation which got stronger 5 mins in and died down once the mask dried down. I had it on for a total of 10 mins to avoid over-drying my sensitive skin.
When it came time to rinse this off, I splashed my skin with water to emulsify the clay and gently massaged it around while rinsing it off. The minty cool sensation intensified when the clay mask turned into an emulsion. The kiwi seeds did not feel harsh at all on my skin and provided the right amount of gentle exfoliation.
Upon toweling off the water, my skin felt dry and stretchy. This product did not claim to be hydrating so I wasn’t surprised at the tightening sensation. I did follow up with a sheet mask to restore hydration back to my skin.
My skin felt baby soft and smooth. This did nothing to calm my skin, which, again, it did not claim to do. But I did notice my skin looking brighter and smoother.
Below is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.
This is a great product for normal to oily skin types and a great one for prep the skin for a sheet-masking session. It’s gentle enough for a twice weekly use to maintain the skin’s glow. Since a little goes a long way, this 68g jar will last quite awhile.
I Dew Care Clay Masks come in 5 variants, each with a different function. I would prefer to use them for rainbow masking as different parts of my face have different needs and these clay masks do not claim to solve every issue.
Go be beautiful!
