Review: Quality First Queen’s Premium Mask (High Moist) ★★.☆

Quality First Queen’s Premium Mask (High Moist) claims to provide extraordinary moisture and luster to the skin. It uses a patented high quality raw collagen blended with advanced technology and is preservative and addictive-free.

I’ve been wanting to try this for a really long time as it is one of the best selling masks in Japan.

Before masking

My skin is feeling dry and looking a little irritated today. I’ve cleansed, exfoliated, and toned my skin. Find out how I normally prep my skin for masking.

Material

Out of the packet, I caught a faint citrusy scent. The mask sheet material was carefully woven in the subsoil water of Hakusan. The “super-thick stretch sheet” is supposed to hold large amounts of essence then slowly and carefully enhance the absorption of essence into the skin. The sheet felt like a thick cotton but was smooth and soft. It felt unusually dry for a mask that contains 30 ml of essence. Perhaps I was used to essence dripping off from the mask sheet. There was little to no essence left in the packet. It had a watery gel consistency.

During masking

Fit was average. The eye holes were small and positioned close together. But the sheet was large enough to cover my entire face and also came with multiple slits. Even then, I had to cut a slit at the chin to get it to cup my chin.

Adherence was bad. It took alot of work to smooth out all the air bubbles, only to have them slowly creep in again throughout the masking session. Fold lines refused to stay flat and the piece at my chin refused to adhere.

I took the mask off after 30 mins, it was mostly dry.

After masking

There was little to no essence left to pat in, during which I noticed that the essence felt more like a watery silicone gel than the usual wet essence. My skin felt soft and extremely hydrated. Unfortunately that’s all I can say about the effects. I did not notice any brightening nor calming effects. Finish was dewy but not tacky.

Below is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.

This is a great one for people experiencing skin issues yet require hydration. On normal skin, this just did not do anything drastic aside from basic hydration.
