A. By Bom Ultra Serum Leaf Mask, along with the Ultra Water Leaf Mask, is the brand’s latest Spring 2018 addition to their range of sheet masks. The packaging artwork is dainty, pretty, and to-die-for as always. The floral designs are so apt for this time of the year, when flowers and plants are at the peak of their blooms.
This sheet mask focuses on nourishing and repairing the skin with ingredients like:
Korean Ginseng Berry Extract: improves skin elasticity
Apricot Kernel Oil: deeply nourishes skin
Fig Fruit Extract: softens skin
Pomegranate Extract: repairs and prevents skin cell damage
These beneficial ingredients are contained within the highly-concentrated plant energy serum essence.
My skin is feeling a tad dry and looking very red today. I’ve cleansed, exfoliated, and toned my skin. Find out how I normally prep my skin for masking.
Out of the packet, the sheet mask gave off a moderately strong floral fragrance. The material felt plushy soft and had a medium thickness. It also had a light pink tinge.
Bemliese™ uses 100% cotton linter as raw material without any adhesive. It’s the world’s only regenerated cupro filament non-woven sheet that is naturally dissolvable.
The sheet mask was coated and soaked in thick milky essence that did not drip while I was handling it. Albeit containing 30 ml of essence, there was hardly any left in the packet. This is a good sign as most of the essence is on the sheet.
Another thing I like is the mesh backing. Instead of coming in the shape of the sheet mask, this one came in a semi-circle. This is genius because it performed its function of holding up the sheet mask and aid in the unfolding of it, it also required less resources. More brands should be doing this!
Fit was great! It lined up with my features perfectly and was large enough to cover my entire face. My only minor complain is the tiny nose tent which can be easily resolved by deepening the cuts next to the nose.
Adherence was good. Fold lines did not pop up and air bubbles did not appear. But I could feel it slowly sliding downwards throughout the masking session.
I had this on for 30 mins, it was still very damp.
There were lots of essence left to pat in. It took about 5 – 10 mins of continuous patting and massaging before most of the essence absorbed and dried down to an immediate tacky and dewy finish. In another 5 mins, it further dried down to a silky-looking finish with a velvety feel.
My skin felt intensely hydrated and moisturized, though the moisturizing factor was much higher. There were slight calming and brightening effects. My skin texture also looked and felt very smooth and soft.
Below is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.
Due to its highly nourishing and moisturizing capabilities, I’d say this is more suitable for dry kin types. Oily and combo-oily skin types might find still find their skin feeling dry yet with a layer of icky greasy film on top. Had I known this was going to be the case, I’d have layered watery products like toners and FTEs on my dehydrated skin prior to masking. The results would have been much more enjoyable. When used appropriately, I find myself liking this more than the Ultra Water Leaf Mask.
