Sun Moon Lake Black Tea Soothing Moisturizing Mask
This Taipei Mountain Hydrating Firming/Hot Springs Moisturizing Mask variant features hot spring water from the igneous rock geological hot spring in Taipei. It contains rich minerals and trace elements to rapidly relieve tired, dull skin, and strengthen skin barrier.
My skin is feeling dry and dehydrated. There are also a couple of pimples along my jawline and outer cheek that are red, sensitive, and sore to the touch. I’ve cleansed, exfoliated, and toned my skin. Find out how I normally prep my skin for masking.
Out of the packet, I caught a pretty strong white tea fragrance. Like most My Beauty Diary sheet masks, the essence was clear and runny. There was still a lot left in the packet for the neck and arms.
The Multi-SilkTM material looks thin and felt soft and was dripping in essence. It came with a perforated plastic backing to hold its shape as well as aid in the application process. This Multi-SilkTM material is a complex containing silk amino acid and silk protein and has the ability to quickly penetrate rough and disorderly keratin to give the skin a silky texture.
Fit was average. The sheet was on the small side and was only covering the inner perimeter of my face. I found the holes too small for my features too. There was also an absence of slits to adjust for fit. Still the holes were where they should be and the shape was alright.
Adherence was average as well. Some air bubbles managed to sneak in during the masking process. Some of the fold lines lifted and refused to stay flat.
I took the mask off after 25 mins, it was already drying out. The material on my forehead was starting to turn white.
The remaining essence patted in with ease, leaving behind a non-tacky and silky-looking finish.
My skin felt very hydrated and soft. It even felt slightly moisturized too, which was rare for a Taiwanese sheet mask. Skin was looking and feeling moderately calm with smaller pores and smooth texture.
Below is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.
I think the most unique thing about this mask was the slight moisturization it provided, on top of the amazing benefits that most Taiwanese sheet masks provide. Not to mention the pretty packaging as well. Considering how affordable these mask are, I’d totally repurchase! My Beauty Diary rarely disappoints! Check out more My Beauty Diary masks here.
