My skin is feeling balanced and normal hydration wise. But it is also red and sensitive, especially around my nose and inner cheeks. I’ve cleansed, exfoliated, and toned my skin. Find out how I normally prep my skin for masking.
Out of the packet, I caught a lovely floral fragrance. It wasn’t too strong and reminded me of chamomile flowers. Essence was clear and had a thin gel consistency.
The 100% organic cotton mask felt just a tad thicker than silk masks, which was considered pretty thin. Surprisingly, it did not come with a backing. If you’re new to sheet masking, you might find it challenging to unfold the sheet. It reminded me of My Beauty Diary masks, except they come with a thin plastic backing for ease of application.
Fit was great on my face shape and size. The holes were of the right size and the sheet was large enough to cover my entire face.
Adherence was great at first but 5 mins into masking and the fold lines starting lifting. This effect enabled air bubbles from entering the beneath the mask, causing more lifts. Nevertheless, the mask stayed put throughout. There was no slippage or sliding around.
I lost track of time and took the mask off after a whopping 40 mins. The sheet was drying out and showing white sporadic white patches.
After patting in the excess essence, my skin had a tacky and dewy finish.
My skin felt hydrated and moisturized. This felt suitable for oily to combo skin for night use. Dry skin might find this more suitable for day time masking.
I also noticed my skin looking very plump from the hydration. Soothing effects were surprisingly pretty moderate for a soothing mask. There was still some slight redness on my face. There was no brightening effects observed.
Below is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.
This mask had a great INCI list which was ideal for my sensitive skin. However, the effects were pretty mediocre for a $6 sheet mask. There are cheaper masks out there that with more impressive effects.
