Review: Atopalm Real Barrier Soothing Ampoule Mask ★★★★★
Atopalm Real Barrier Soothing Ampoule Mask is infused with Panthenol to calm, Madecassoside to repair and Allantoin to soothe. It also contains Hyaluronic Acid which is known to bind moisture to the skin. This concentrated ampoule deeply moisturize and repair damaged skin. Together, these ingredients keep the skin barrier from weakening and becoming susceptible to environmental aggressors. It does not contain paraben and additives.
My skin is feeling normal to oily as the days get hotter. Due to hormonal fluctuations, my skin is experiencing an overall sensitivity and also sprouting a few red, itchy spots. I’ve cleansed and toned my skin. Find out how I normally prep my skin for masking.
Out of the packet, I caught a faint fresh scent. The ampoule essence is clear and had a gel-like consistency. Upon closer inspection, I noticed little black fibers suspended in the ampoule. The mask pack contains 28 ml of ampoule essence so there was a palm full of leftovers after retrieving the sheet mask.
The black sheet, enriched with Bamboo Charcoal, helps purify skin that has been exposed to and damaged by environmental pollutants. It felt very soft, thin, and smooth. The material reminded me of microfiber. A backing did not come with it so unfolding and application might prove to be a challenge to beginners. The sheet was extremely juicy and entirely drenched in clear ampoule essence. It wasn’t dripping at all.
Fit was good but it could be improved. The overall size of the sheet was a tad too small. Not only was it covering the inner perimeter of my face, it also left part of my forehead exposed and my chin un-cupped. The holes were lined up with my features but I found them too small and a tad uncomfortable.
Adherence was great thanks to the softness and thinness of the material. Fold lines were completely flat and there were hardly any lifts around the edges. Since the material was an opaque black, I wasn’t able to check for the presence of air bubbles.
I took the mask off after 30 mins, it was still very damp.
The remaining essence patted in with ease, leaving behind a tacky finish at first but quickly dried down to a comfortable finish. It wasn’t a matte and dry-feel finish, there was still a thin hydrating layer on top of my skin and my skin looked silky.
Hydration was great and moisturization was moderate. I find this finish most comfortable for combo-oily skin types though all skin types will enjoy this mask. A moisturizer was optional on my combo skin but I applied a layer of light gel to prevent the night time cold air from sucking the life out of my face.
My skin looked very calm with minimal redness. There was an obvious radiance to it too, most likely due to the evenness of my skin tone. My skin texture looked very smooth and plump, fine less and pores were less obvious.
Below is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.
This is an amazing mask for sensitive and irritation-prone skin! It is super affordable and effective, I have no complaints at all!
