Annie's Way Hyaluronic Acid + Seaweed Hydrating Mask

Review: Annie’s Way Hyaluronic Acid + Seaweed Hydrating Mask ★★★☆☆

Annie’s Way is a Taiwanese brand and this mask is part of their latest Fantasy Land series which consists of 6 other sheet masks with beautiful whimsical packaging. They’re all have the feather light, invisible silk material, just like the ones in the silk mask series with plainer packaging.

Annie’s Way Hyaluronic Acid + Seaweed Hydrating Mask aims to hydrate skin and improve skin elasticity with hyaluronic acid and seaweed extract. Key ingredients include:

  • Chrondus Crispus is a seaweed full of antioxidants that works to maintain skin moisture levels
  • Algae Extract nourishes and revitalizes skin with Vitamin B and trace elements and minerals
  • Clary Sage provides continuous hydration to skin and helps maintain a strong skin barrier, leaving skin soft and moisturized
  • Hyaluronic Acid is naturally present in skin and retains skin moisture levels 1000 times its weight
  • Punarnava is a nutrient dense medicinal herb that soothes skin and protets skin against pollution

This mask does not contain alcohol, paraben, and methylisothiazolinone (MIT). MIT is present in many Taiwanese sheet masks but not this one.

Annie's Way Hyaluronic Acid + Seaweed Hydrating Mask
Before masking

My skin is feeling normal to oily as the days get hotter. Also, a weekend camping and swimming has dulled my skin tone somewhat. I’ve cleansed and toned my skin. Find out how I normally prep my skin for masking.

Annie's Way Lavender + Chamomile Soothing Mask

I did not detect any scent from the sheet mask and essence. Essence was clear and runny.

The tencel material felt just like silk. It was light, extremely thin, and extremely soft. It came with a thick perforated plastic backing to hold its shape and also to aid in the application. Place the sheet mask on your face, then peel off the backing from the outside. This prevents the mask from curling up and sticking onto itself, which is a disaster because it is almost impossible to unfold that mess.

During masking

Fit was great! Mainly due to the softness of the material, I was able to easily manipulate it to fit my face.

Adherence was also great! Again, it’s thanks to the softness of the material. Once the material touched my skin, it clung for its dear life and refused to budge.

I had this on for 30 mins, it was still surprisingly damp.

Annie's Way Pearl + Hyaluronic Acid Brightening Mask

After masking

The remaining essence patted in with ease. Finish was non-tacky and looked matte.

Hydration was good but moisturization was minimal. I could feel my skin losing moisture to the environment fast. As such, this is highly suitable for oily skin types for day time use. Combo skin might require a gel moisturizer on top of this. Dry skin types will find the moisture insufficient.

I noticed my skin looking brighter with an even skin tone. So much so that my dark circles were being accentuated. Redness reduction was moderate and skin texture improvement was minimal.

Below is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.

Having tried the entire Fantasy Land series from Annie’s Way, I would not say this is my favorite. It performed well in the brightening department but the rest was lackluster. My favorite are the Lavender + Chamomile Soothing Mask and Tea Tree + Burdock Anti-Acne Mask. Check out more Annie’s Way reviews here.
