Review: Papa Recipe Bombee Fruitables Orange Squeeze Energy Mask ★★★☆☆
Papa Recipe Bombee Fruitables Orange Squeeze Energy Mask contains orange squeeze complex made of 5 extracts, including carrot, pumpkin, orange, papaya and apricot, to revitalize and energize fatigued skin. The combination of these ingredients look more like a shake than a sheet mask!
Key ingredients and benefits:
Carrot contain vitamin C, which has healing properties. Beta-carotene in carrots also reduces skin inflammation, which speeds the healing process.
Pumpkin is packed with fruit enzymes and alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs), which increase cell turnover, to brighten and smooth the skin. Pumpkin contains antioxidant Vitamin A and Vitamin C to help soften and soothe the skin and boost collagen production to prevent the signs of aging.
Orange extract is a natural astringent with powerful antibacterial and toning properties. It is also used for its uplifting citrus aroma and natural source of the antioxidant vitamin C.
Papaya is used for its softening, moisturizing and exfoliating properties. It is excellent for use on dry or prematurely aging skin as it helps to boost skin cell renewal and rejuvenate the skin.
Apricot is nourishing and helps to enrich and support the skin’s natural moisture balance. It leaves skin soft and smooth to the touch.
The extracts are obtained via a special squeeze solution:
My skin is feeling normal to oily as the days get hotter, but it is also dehydrated and tight. My skin is also looking a little more flushed than usual. I’ve cleansed and toned my skin. Find out how I normally prep my skin for masking.
Out of the packet, I caught a delicious citrus scent. It reminded me of orange-flavored candies. Essence was clear and had a gel-like consistency.
The 100% plant-based cellulose material felt very soft and very smooth. It was also very thin but did not come with a backing. This proved to be a challenge to unfold. Hence I find the below info graphic absolutely necessary for first-timers.
Fit was good. The sheet was large enough to cover my entire face but I just find the material around the chin slightly lacking. The holes were perfectly lined up with my features but they were too small. I experienced essence trickling into my eyes and lips.
Adherence was great! The soft and thin sheet comfortably hugged the contours of my face for the entire masking session.
I took the mask off after 30 mins, it was still very damp.
There were lots of essence left on my skin. It absorbed with ease after some patting and massaging. Finish was non-sticky and non-greasy with a semi-matte look. But it continued to dry down quickly to become matte and smooth.
Unlike the Green Squeeze variant which wowed me the moment I removed the sheet mask, this variant had average results in all aspects.
My skin felt moderately hydrated and moisturized. As the essence continued to dry down, I felt my skin getting a tad drier. This effect felt very comfortable on my combo skin especially on a hot summer day. But I layered on a hydrating serum and moisturizer to prevent my dehydration-prone skin from losing more moisture. As such, this is suitable for all skin types.
Improvements to my skin texture, plumpness, redness, and dullness were moderate and nothing worth raving about.
Below is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.
This was a pretty average mask on my skin. Since they cost the same, I’d suggest trying out the Green Squeeze variant instead. Check out more Papa Recipe reviews here.
