Review: Manyo Factory Active Refresh Herb Mask ★★★★☆
Manyo Factory Active Refresh Herb Mask is mask is filled with a concentrated essence of specially selected herb extracts that provide an intensive restoration treatment to fatigue skin. A combination of 25 herbs and tea tree oil gently refreshes the skin, nourishes the cells with nutrients and minerals, provides energy, soothes irritation, and regulates sebum production.
Centella asiatica normalizes skin cells and calm irritations
Tea tree balances sebum production and relieves inflammation
Broccoli rejuvenates and tones skin
Mung beans nourishes the skin with vitamins and minerals. It also has a calming effect.
Trehalose deeply moisturizes and nourishes the skin to prevent moisture loss
I like Manyo Factory for their use of botanical extracts and the exclusion of fragrance. Also, the botanical extracts are listed pretty high up in the ingredients list.
My skin is feeling pretty normal, just some redness but no sensitivity. I’ve cleansed and toned my skin. Find out how I normally prep my skin for masking.
Out of the packet, I caught a pleasant eucalyptus scent. This reminded me of Vicks. The 100% natural cotton material felt soft and had a medium thinness. It did not come with a backing. It was thoroughly soaked in clear, viscous essence and wasn’t dripping as I was putting the mask on.
Fit was great! This was one of those rare masks that fitted me really well, especially around the philtrum area. Most of the time, I’m tempted to cut off the material around my philtrum because they never fit me. But I have zero complaints about the fit of this mask. Everything was as it should be.
Adherence was great too. I wasn’t expecting a cotton sheet mask to cling so well without any lifts or air bubbles.
I took this mask off after 30 mins, it was starting to dry out and was clinging even more tightly.
There was lots of essence left to pat in. It took me a good 10 mins of gentle patting and massaging before the essence absorbed and dried down to a tacky and dewy finish.
My skin felt intensely hydrated and moisturized. It felt a tad too rich for my combo skin and I was tempted to wipe my skin with a toner-soaked cotton pad, but I persevered so that my skin could get as much nutrition from the essence as possible. As such, I do not recommend this to oily skin. Dry skin will really enjoy this mask though.
The greatest improvement I saw was to the redness of my skin. My skin looked very calm and without an ounce of redness. My skin tone looked even due to this albeit there was no brightening effect.
My skin also looked moderately plumper with a smoother skin texture and smaller pores. Overall, my skin looked healthy and I’m totally comfortable with going out without any make up.
Below is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.
Despite having such impressive results, I still found this mask a tad too pricey for everyday use. I’d choose to only use it on days when my skin is in desperate need of calming. Check out more Manyo Factory reviews here.
