Review: Skin & Lab Dr. Vita Clinic Vitamin K Plus Red-X Essence ★★★☆☆
Skin & Lab Dr. Vita Clinic Vitamin K Plus Red-x Essence is a soothing solution for redness and irritated skin. It helps to care for sensitive skin and soothe redness caused by laser or harmful external stressors. It contains menadione of Vitamin K3 that helps to relieve skin irritation. Vitamin K3 also strengthens skin layer and recover damaged skin and redness. It controls redness so that skin tone will be even. Spirulina also restores healthy skin by protecting against the causes of redness such as dehydration, pollution, and free radicals.
50 ml of viscous green essence came in a frosted glass bottle with an airless pump. The pump even came with a cap. As much as I appreciate such a packaging for it’s hygiene factor and convenience, the smooth surface of the black plastic cap proved to be a challenge to remove at time. I apply this right after a toner, hence my hands are slimey and wet. The black cap required alot of strength and dexterity in order for my toner-covered hands to free it from the container. However, I love the airless pump and found it really easy to get a consistent amount of product each time.
The green essence has a viscous texture and gave off a refreshing grassy scent. I suspect it came from the high concentration of centella asiatica extract. It is pretty strong so people who have sensitive noses might be bother by it. It does dissipate quickly into nothing.
Above is a close up of the essence. It has a true serum texture.
The amount shown on my hand is achieved by pumping the dispenser twice. It is also the amount I use on my entire face, right after the toner step. The essence spreads easily and has an immediate tackiness. My skin has a temporary cooling sensation right away. The essence absorbs with ease and does not leave any residue nor tackiness.
If you keep up with my mask reviews, you’ll know that I always start with a red face and am always looking for calming effects. My skin barrier has been weakened due to a bout of dermatitis 2 years ago. It has never been the same since. After testing this for a week or so, I noticed my skin looking slightly less red in the mornings. This did not do wonders for major issues like acne and sun burns, but it was able to soothe minor irritations and reduce minor redness. I recommend this to people who want to address minor issues like me but I don’t think this will do wonders for people with more serious concerns.
