Review: Maskingdom Taiwan Guava & Black Tea Facial Mask ★★★★☆
Maskingdom Taiwan Guava & Black Tea Facial Mask is a 2-step mask-serum formula that aims to brighten, improve skin metabolism, smooth wrinkles and restore skin elasticity.
Key ingredients and benefits:
Black tea extract – Contains loads of antioxidants, which fight free radicals, black tea helps prevents formation of fine lines and wrinkles on skin.
Niacinamide – Also known as vitamin B3 and nicotinamide, niacinamide is a water-soluble vitamin that works with the natural substances in your skin to help visibly improve the appearance of enlarged pores, uneven skin tone, fine lines and wrinkles, dullness, and a weakened surface.
Allantoin – Its gentle, non-irritating qualities make it an excellent addition to anti-aging products for those with sensitive or easily irritated skin.
My skin is extra sensitive and red today. Sebum-wise, it’s feeling like normal skin with the usual slight dehydration. I’ve cleansed and toned my skin. Find out how I normally prep my skin for masking.
The serum from the first step came out as a colorless gel. It did not give off any scent. There was enough in the packet for my entire face and neck.
Step 1 contained a serum that absorbed pretty quickly, leaving behind a non-tacky feel. My skin felt lightly hydrated.
Step 2 contains a juicy sheet mask that’s drenched in watery essence. It came with a thick plastic backing. The material felt pulpy and a little rough and stiff. The scent of this reminded me of rubbing alcohol.
Fit was mostly great. The sheet was wider than it was long but still covered my entire face. My only minor complaint is the overly long piece on the mustache area.
Adherence was average. Material around my chin hung loose after 5 mins of application. The edges were lifted and introduced some air bubbles underneath the mask.
I took the mask off after 20 mins, it was starting to dry out.
The remaining essence absorbed with ease, leaving behind a non-tacky feel and a matte finish.
My skin felt very hydrated but only slightly moisturized. I would normally enjoy this effect but the weather is still pretty cold and I’d appreciate a little more moisturization. This is highly suitable for oily skin and warmer weather.
Visually, my skin looked amazing! It was smooth, plump, bright, even-toned and devoid of redness. I couldn’t stop admiring my skin!
Below is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.
This mask reminded me of how and why I started masking. I’ve always enjoyed Taiwanese masks and find them more suitable for my skin type. Maskingdom is famous for their beautiful packaging and I appreciate the aboriginal artwork. Check out more Maskingdom reviews here.
