My skin is extra sensitive and red today. Sebum-wise, it’s feeling like normal skin with the usual slight dehydration. I’ve cleansed and toned my skin. Find out how I normally prep my skin for masking.
Out of the packet, I caught a faint floral fragrance. Essence was clear and had a runny-gel consistency.
The material felt thin yet slightly stiff. It felt like cellulose to me and did not come with a backing.
Fit and adherence were average. The sheet was alot longer than it was wide. It did not entirely cover the sides of my face but did stretch from my hairline to the underside of my chin. The positioning of the holes were shifted downwards as well. Hence, the mouth hole was below where my mouth should be despite pushing the material upwards. There were lifts and around bubbles at the edges as well as along fold lines.
I took the mask off after 30 mins, it was still damp.
The remaining essence took some time to absorb and dry down. The immediate finish was greasy and looked dewy.
My skin felt intensely hydrated and moisturized at first, so I did not apply a moisturizer over it and just finished up with a sunscreen. But as the day went by, my skin started feeling tighter. I sprayed a mist over my face more frequently than usual this day. I think this mask is suitable for combo skin that’s prepped with runny layers underneath. Dry skin will really enjoy the moisturizing yet light finish.
My skin also looked plump with a smooth texture. Pores looked visibly smaller. There was a moderate calming and brightening effect. Overall, I think my skin looked and felt healthier post-masking.
Below is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.
Having tried 2 of the 3 variants from the Sweet Chef brand developed by Glowrecipe, I’m pretty satisfied with this. However, I was still slightly disappointed because I went in with really high expectations and expected to be wow-ed. Check out more Sweet Chef reviews here.
