Make P:rem Tamanu Calming Serum is packed with ingredients designed to specifically calm and hydrate skin, starring Tamanu Oil from Madasgascar as its key ingredient. Tamanu Oil has been recognized for its calming and healing properties and is listed as the 2nd ingredient (10%) on the INCI list. It also contains 6 kinds of hyaluronic acids to hydrate the skin at all layers; and a complex of herb extracts such as ginkgo biloba leaf extract (antioxidant), green tea leaf extract (reduces inflammation), and camellia leaf extract (boost hydration).
It does contain essential oils like lavender and orange so if you have a known irritation to it, please avoid.
About Tamanu Oil: Make p:rem sources their Tamanu Oil from Madagascar, known as the source for pure and quality Tamanu products, including of course, the oil! No corners were cut when making selections on which ingredients are included, and from where. Not only that, the Tamanu Oil found in our serum has been extracted via the Cold Press method, ensuring that all of the delicate and vital compounds are kept safe and intact, an issue found with heat and chemical-based extraction methods.
I’ve been testing it for 3 weeks, using half pump in the day and a full pump at night. I was surprised at the strong herbal scent at first but it was pleasant enough not to put me off. The texture is thicker than most serums, more like a silicone-y light cream. Though easily spreadable, I find it taking time to absorb into my skin. I’d blow dry my hair while it absorbs and dries down to a dewy, greasy finish. I don’t mind it as much in my evening routine but in the day, it adds to my natural oils and made me extra 🎵shinay🎵 *cue Shiny song from Moana sung by the villainous giant crab*
My skin did feel very hydrated and sensitivity calmed right after application, but a few hours later, my skin started feeling stretchy with a layer of grease on top. That’s due to my skin’s need for more water than oil. I think I’d like this better if the other essential oils weren’t included. I can’t attest to its anti-aging benefits since I’ve only been using it for 3 weeks. But I’d reckon this will work wonderfully on dry skin types.
